Time Alone With God In Genesis : A 100 Day Devotional Through The Book Of Genesis

Welcome the devotional series Time Alone With God. This series is born out of my personal time I spend each morning with God. It is rewritten and edited in a way that is designed to be a short devotional reading that will delve beyond the surface stories in the Bible and cut straight into some very valuable and practical applications that we need in order to become people of God. Each day is divided into six short sections designed to connect you to God's Word and bring you closer to Him through practical insights from the day's passage. As a former high school basketball coach, it seemed only natural for me to title these sections based on how a coach treats game day. We are after all, playing the game of life. However, just because the section titles are taken from a sports analogy, the sections themselves do not have anything to do with athletics. The first is the Pre-Game Locker Room section where I ask two to three questions to get you thinking about what God might want to speak to you about in that day's devotional. The second is the Game Plan section where I give you the Bible verse that the devotional is based on that day. Everything must stem from the Bible as it is there that God gives us His game plan for our lives. The third is the Coaching Connection section where I give you an opportunity to personally connect to the truths we will discuss that day. The fourth section is called Time Out. This is the actual written devotional where we learn how to apply the truths we read about each day. The fifth section is the Post-Game Prayer. This is a prayer based on what we learned that day designed to spark your personal prayer that day. And finally, we have the Practice section where you will write down the things that you are going to put into practice after reading that days devotional. In this first volume, designed to read one entry a day for 100 days, we will look at some very practical life lessons we can learn from the characters and stories in the book of Genesis. Be ready to let God convict you of areas in which you need to grow as we look at these people and stories in the first book of the Bible.
