Hebrews: Shadows of Reality: A Verse by Verse Devotional Commentary

This book was born out of a deep desire to intimately know God, to have a passionate relationship with Him. For many years, Pastor Jim DeSpain studied the Book of Hebrews, feeding on the Word slowly, digesting and processing every little bit of it. This study so impacted his life, that he began sending bits of his "Hebrews Notes" through emails, hoping to encourage those he loves so much. Hebrews is full of types and shadows. It describes through symbolism how our physical realm only dimly represents the reality of the spiritual realm, which we can only in part come to understand while we are at home in this body. But the message is clear. There is a Savior who has removed the veil between the two realms, who is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us, and calling us to boldly approach the Throne of Grace, to love, worship and minister to our Heavenly Father through relationship with Him. May your love grow strong and your faith be increased, just as it was for those who have gone before us.
