Journey of Life on Earth: Conversing with Dante in Dream {2}

Journey of Life on Earth: Conversing with Dante in a Dream {2} is the middle part (Tale Two) of a fictional narrative poem in tercet stanza. It unfolds an imaginary conversation between two characters: A sincere heathen dreamer and the spirit of his revered poet, Dante (1265-1321), the author of the Divine Comedy, in a wondrous dream. The present work is a fictional conversation on the nature of life on Earth. This is not a scholarly academic work on the current researches in the biological sciences. Nevertheless, the author tried to unfold a sincere dialogue on the recent discoveries in the molecular biology of genome, the evolution of diverse organisms, the emergence of the humankind, and the neuroscientific researches on the versatile functions of the brain, as much as his poor brain could learn from the outstanding researches of many devoted scientists and as best as he could retell them in a plain narrative poem, inspired by the Divine Comedy of Dante. The dreamer's Tale Two consists of the following sixteen episodes, each called Song (similar to the Dante's Canto). Song 1: The Beginning of Each Individual's Life. Song 2: The Early Dark Journey of Our Life. Song 3: Functional Structure of the Genome. Song 4: Enzymes Read and Use the Genetic Information. Song 5: Molecular Drama of Gene Expression. Song 6: Editing and Using the Genetic Information. Song 7: Spontaneous Changes of the Genome. Song 8: Evolution of Diverse Organisms on Earth. Song 9: Emergence of the Humankind. Song 10: Artistic Creativity of Early Humans. Song 11: Functional Organization of the Human Brain. Song 12: Neurons and their Functional Synaptic Networks. Song 13: Cognitive Functions of the Human Brain. Song 14: On Human Communication. Song 15: Language and Civilization. Song 16: The Epic of Gilgamesh.
