ABOUT THE BOOK The Promise A Body of Wisdom is an invitation to a poetic journey. It is an offering to unearth the body's wisdom and the wisdom of our creative beings. It is a journey of learnings, of teachings, allowing space for the reader to connect, explore and tend to their healing through the ebb and flow of this book. A Body of Wisdom is an invitation through and to alignment, from the place of dreams to the place of being, to the beauty of grief, and the beauty of all parts within. A Body of Wisdom creates dialogue and reflection, a space to think more openly with curiosity, broadening our perspectives of our world and who we are-connecting us to the deep questions within. A Body of Wisdom supports healing, reflection, connection, and understanding of our bodies and our creativity. A Body of Wisdom is therapy. It is self-care; it is self-discovery; it is self-expansion; it is empowerment; it is strength; it is knowledge; it is wisdom; it is vulnerability. It is a journey of unbecoming-widening our windows of love, care, transformation and discovery within. The body is poetry it unfurls into a body of truth of a journey embodied within moving you to a story that is creating space for the true action of your dreams it tells a story that is ready to be moved through so that the ancient in all of you can begin to ignite your fire from within - A Body of Wisdom ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jacquie is a poet, artist, mother, advocate, and an art and somatic therapist. She is an instructor and clinical supervisor at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute, where she teaches a course that explores cultural humility and art therapy. Jacquie specializes in the healing of trauma and how it shows up in one's life. She was born in Toronto but spent her formative years growing up on the island of St. Lucia. Jacquie has always had a deep passion and curiosity towards what makes us uniquely and ever so beautifully human. For Jacquie, poetry is a way of understanding and connecting to her embodied experiences of the world. She believes that therapy is sacred. It is a sacred space where so much beauty, wisdom, love and pain unfold and is a space that allows an undoing to take place-an unbecoming back to one's self.
