It is 1898, the London of Sherlock Holmes. Harriet Day worries that her dear friend, artist Alexandra Roberts, is falling under the dangerous influence of a powerful woman, the unpredictable Minerva Atwell. As Harriet looks into Minerva's past, she discovers strange lies. When her friend, the gentle enigmatic actor, George Arden, is forced to flee for his life, she enlists the help of a slightly unwilling Dr Watson.
