The electrical resistivity tomography is one of the best methods for detection of cavities generally occurring in calcareous soils or due to human destructive activities. The cavity may create ground surface subsidence to generate fissure in the masonry to the total collapse of building or damage to the structures like dams. Saturation zone detection is another usage of this powerful nondestructive method. For evaluating the advantages and the disadvantages of this method, geo-electrical modeling of Amirabad qanat with variety of arrays like Schlumberger, Wenner and Dipole-Dipole via sounding and profiling electrical surveys was performed. 1D and 2D sections are made of 3000 electrical resistivity values via RES2DINV software. In this book, Amirabad qanat as high resistive cavity is modeled with resistivity. Horizontal cylindrical hole which filled vastly by air and a little water modeling, also two-phase zone delinaeation which includes saturated and unsaturated zone, that could be standard model according to the information which found from the wells. The last discussed the best array which used for detection of a lateral variety of resistivity and indicating of saturation zone.
