This chapter is a play on the notion of technology and the idea of modern India was imagined by a select group of modern Indians. The intellectual history of the location of technology in the idea of modern India, which this work undertook to explore, is based on the interpretations of the original literary works with reference to how these literary masterpieces looked at technology for India.
