H.pylori is a flagellated gram-negative, microaerophilic, helical bacterium about 3.5 μm long, commonly found in the stomach, its infections are most often contracted in childhood and is known to cause duodenal and gastric ulcers, as well as being a major risk factor for stomach cancer and Peptic ulcer with a high prevalence in Uganda.
