Definition of Ophir: a biblical land of uncertain location but reputedly rich in gold. The Philippines is the Ancient and Biblical Land of Gold, Ophir. Ophir is a port or a region mentioned in the Bible, famous for its wealth. King Solomon is supposed to have recieved shipments of gold, silver, sandalwood, precious stones, ivory, apes and peacocks, every three years. The location of Ophir is a mystery even today. There is much speculation as to where this place is. Zimbabwe is the legendary land of Ophir, the ancient country that enriched the kingdoms of Hiram, Solomon, and Sheba with gold and ivory thousands of years ago. It is also home to the magnificent Victoria Falls, the mighty Zambezi River and Hwange National Park, one of Africa's best safari destinations" In August,2022, we met in the Philippines for a literature symposium, at which literati from all over the world showcased their literary works. Covid 19 restrictions caused some to participate virtually by doing a ten-minute video showcasing published works. I did my video by presenting my six published books, dressed in my national colours and recited my poem "Hwange National Park" and lastly, I wrote the poem "We Met in The Land of Ophir"' I was awarded an Honorary DLitt and an FOWr at the end of the symposium. I hope readers of this poetry book will enjoy it and hopefully be inspired to become poets
