Quantitative Research in Education

This book is designed into two parts. Part-I deals with the fundamentals of research. The first chapter provides an introduction to research methodology. The remaining chapters cover the important aspects of educational research such as defining the research problem, reviewing the related literature, stating the problem, creating research design, selecting sample, developing research tool, data analysis both descriptive and inferential and writing research report. This part provides adequate motivation and an in-depth insight to the aspirant scholars to embark on their research ventures. The Part-II focuses on quantitative research. There is a separate chapter for each of the different types of quantitative research. i.e. Survey research, descriptive research, correlation research, causal comparative research and experimental research. Each chapter incorporates meaning, definition, characteristics, nature and types of a specific research besides explaining the steps involved in the research, research tool, statistics and advantages and disadvantages of that particular research. Guidelines for writing research report in educational thesis format are also provided at the end of each chapter for easy understanding and prompt undertaking of research by aspirant scholars.
