Conventions Can Be Murder

High school English teacher Beatrix (Bea) Cortland started the 1989-90 school year without her usual enthusiasm. Her best friend, Bronwyn MacIntosh Gordon, had moved to Tennessee with her musician husband, Ti, and refocused herself on her painting. She had a part-time job in an art gallery and hoped to mount her own show soon. Bea had divorced her husband, Norm, and rescued a miniature schnauzer named Sherlock. Her life with her boys, Cameron and Conner, while busy, didn't fulfill her.
