The world is undergoing a unique transformation. From January 30, 2020 to the present day, the world has changed. First, with the declaration by the WHO - World Health Organization - of the outbreak of the disease caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) as a Public Health Emergency of International Importance; then, and on March 11, 2020, COVID-19 was characterized by WHO as a pandemic.According to PAHO - Pan American Health Organization - there are 3,090,445 cases of COVID-19 with 217,769 deaths worldwide until April 30, 2020. In Brazil, there are 85,380 cases with 5,901 deaths. Brazil represents 28.65% of COVID-19 cases and 2.71% of deaths worldwide.According to the newspaper El País, the IMF - International Monetary Fund - predicts a 3.1% contraction in the World Economy; and, in Brazil, 5.3%, that is, higher than the world average.As for unemployment in Brazil during the pandemic period, according to information from NEXO JOURNAL, it stood at 12.2% in the first quarter of 2020.
