What is Feminine Spirituality?Spirituality is related to spirit or atma. And according to Vedic scriptures the atma has no gender. So, it seems that spiritualty should neither be masculine, nor feminine. Then why do we call it Feminine Spirituality? The highest evolution of our consciousness is when we are in a loving relationship with the supreme being. Love has the nature of femininity. When we love someone, we want to see that person happy. We want to please that person. We want to sacrifice our life for that person. This sacrifice and loving service is the main characteristic of the feminine nature. Again, this femininity is not related to the physical body. It is not related to the feminine body. It is the characteristic of the atma itself. The highest evolved personalities are the cowherd women who are feminine in their appearance and have the characteristics of this feminine love for the supreme. Great philosophers and scholars have glorified these cowherd women who have the purest love for the supreme lord. The goal of Feminine Spirituality is to understand that whether we are male of female, as a spiritual being we are feminine in relation with the Divine. We should not feel disturbed with the word feminine as it is not related with our physical appearance. It is related to the soul and refers to the relationship between atma and paramatma, between soul and supersoul. Therefore, we call it Feminine Spirituality.
