Floyd Flamingo decides to stunt fly during a fierce storm against the advice of his father. Floyd is bruised and battered by the storm and eventually crash-lands into a strange land far from home.Fiddles Frog helps Floyd recover, and they become friends. There are no shrimp in the strange land for Floyd to eat. So Fiddles suggests that his friend might enjoy eating grass. Soon, Floyd's beautiful pink feathers become a shiny grass green.Squeak and Squawk, a pair of jive-talking crows, join the two friends to help Floyd find his way home. Along the way, they meet Oliver Owl, Percival Penguin, Tyler Turtle, Merri Manatee, and Dolly Dolphin.While resting on a small island in the middle of a lake, a pair of hungry alligators, Chomp and Chew, decide to have Floyd and Fiddles for breakfast. Even Zack the shark tries to gobble up Floyd when he falls helplessly into the ocean.When Floyd finally does arrive home, he is excited and thrilled, and his eyes fill with tears of joy.
