Silence - Mauna

I thought of writing this book of poems on 'Silence' because whenever I've made an attempt to be silent, I have felt at peace. The clutter in my mind gets untangled and I gather energy to focus back to the present.Being in the moment doesn't come naturally to me. It takes efforts for me to live in the present.I wrote some of these poems after meditating; some I wrote in a state of extreme chaos. Silence can stem from an unsettled mind and amidst disturbed surroundings. Being in a state of silence is the realization that we need to slow down. Even though there is noise around, we are in a hurry to finish our work, and are confused, the realization that we have to slow down a bit to reconnect to ourselves is so important to ensure we are doing the right thing.
