It is 1916 as Adobe Centori, owner of the Circle C Ranch in New Mexico, sits atop his horse next to ranch foreman Francisco Griego. While the mounted cowboys prepare for the spring roundup, Centori wonders about Mad Mady Blaylock. She is gone. Mad Mady silently slipped away from the Circle C during the night. A message from General Pershing arrives. He offers Centori a commission to join the pursuit of Pancho Villa into Mexico.
