Harley Stoneman provides a service to businessmen who require insurance but cannot qualify due to age, or illness. He takes the physicals for them, and charges $10,000.00 per case. The largest policy he has ever contracted for was $10 Million. One day Harley takes a physical for a man called Richard Bennet, whom he thinks is the CEO of a company called P.C.M., a multi-national corporation, and charges his usual fee. He later discovers that the insurance is for $1 Billion, and is part of a transaction to forge a partnership with a company called The Degraaff Diamond Corporation, and the venture is worth billions of dollars. Harley feels cheated. He reasons that had he known the size of the policy, he would have charged a fee of $1 Million and decides to ask Bennet to pay it. He realizes that Bennet will not agree without coercion, and so he threatens blackmail to ensure payment. He sends Bennet two letters. One demanding $1 Million and the other addressed to the insurance company, thereby divulging the fraud, which he says he will send if the money is not paid.Subsequent events reveal that P.C.M. is actually a front for a powerful Mafia Family, and that Bennet, otherwise known as Enricci Bennedito, is its Don. The Family seeks to silence Harley, and they send hit men to find and kill him. This not only puts Harley's life in peril, but also that of his fiancé. When Jacob Degraaff, the owner and CEO of the Degraaff Diamond Corporation, consummates his partnership with P.C.M., he too is unaware of whom they really are. He is equally unaware that his life is also in danger, as Bennet intends to kill him and take over his company. As events unfold, both men are forced to take action to protect themselves and those dear to them from Bennet's objectives.
