12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.それからイエスは弟子たちに言われた、「だから、わたしはあなたがたに言う。自分の命のことで、何を食べようかと心配したり、体のことで、何を着ようかと心配したりするな。」12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.命は食物よりも大切であり、体は着物よりも大切である。12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?烏のことを考えてみよ。彼らは種も蒔かず、刈り入れもせず、倉も倉も持たない。だが、神が彼らを養っておられる。まして、あなたがたは鳥よりも、どれほどすぐれていることか。12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?あなたがたのうちだれが、思い煩って自分の身長をわずかでも伸ばすことができようか。12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?このように、最も小さい事さえできないのなら、どうしてそのほかの事に心を砕くのか。12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.ゆりがどのように育つか考えてみなさい。働きもせず、紡ぎもしません。しかし、私はあなた方に言います。栄華を極めたソロモンでさえ、これらの花の一つほどにも着飾ってはいませんでした。12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?きょうは野にあって、明日は炉に投げ込まれる草でさえ、神はこのように装って下さるのなら、まして、信仰の薄い者よ、あなたがたには、どんなにか豊かに装って下さることがあるであろうか。12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.あなたがたは何を食べようか、何を飲もうかと求めてはならない。疑心暗鬼になってはならない。
