My Pal, Jessie: A Screenplay

Logline: A black high-school football star befriends a physically challenged, white girl and develops a friendship that changes their lives. Synopsis: Tom Harper is a popular high-school senior who surprises everyone when he invites physically challenged freshman Jessie Davidson into his social circle. Tom's beautiful girlfriend, Sharon Tiller, feels threatened by the inclusion, while Tom's tactless best friend, Ace Hess, ridicules the relationship. Tom and Jessie also face opposition from their families, including Jessie's protective father. Tom faces yet another challenge when a knee injury threatens his future, and the lessons he has learned from his friendship with Jessie are put to the test.
